Profile:
Lindy Anstey is an Irish artist based in Killyleagh, County Down.
After retiring from a career in Finance in the city and raising her family in England and abroad she
returned home to Northern Ireland to the shores of Strangford Lough to pursue her passion as an
artist. Lindy paints almost exclusively in oils although from time to time she ventures into other
mediums such as oil pastel and soft pastel. Her painting style is largely representational often with
an abstract nuance. Her subjects are varied and include landscapes and seascapes as well as wildlife,
portraits and still life. Her commissions are numerous and wide ranging in subject matter.
Her work is inspired by urban and rural Ireland and often by the Lough where she lives. The influence
of the Far East where she spent some years can also be seen in her work, particularly in still life and
floral paintings. She is a palette knife as well as a conventional brush painter.
She has exhibited in England and Ireland and has had work accepted by the Royal Ulster Academy.
Her work features in private collections all over the world including in the USA, Canada, Dubai,
Australia, France and Spain. She has been offered her own exhibition at the Castle Espie Gallery,
County Down in August 2023.
