Padraig Lynch
Padraig Lynch was born in 1936 in Ardee, Co. Louth. He studied under the late George Collie RHA at his studio in Dublin. Padraig has a BA in the History of Art from UCD and worked as a primary school teacher until the late 80's when he retired and took up painting full time.
He has exhibited all over Ireland and abroad. He has contributed to the Royal Hibernian Academy Annual Exhibition 1981-94 and the Royal Hibernian Academy Banquet Exhibition. He has collaborated with the Poet Noel Monaghan on a number of works relating to poets and writers. He has painted a number of works celebrating the writer John McGahern whom he studied with in St. Patrick's College Drumcondra. Dublin.
Lynch's work is included in the private collections of Mary Mcaleese, Mary Robinson, Paddy Hillery, ESB, Ulster Bank. County Library, Carrick-On-Shannon.
